Terms of Use

These terms apply to ASACE Labs software products, including the Cairn: Form app. They are written to be read, and nothing in them takes away rights the law gives you.

Applies to ASACE Labs software products · Last updated 4 October 2026

Who we are, and what these terms are

Our software is published by ASACE Labs Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16516913). You can reach us at support@asacelabs.com.

These terms form the agreement between you and ASACE Labs Ltd for your use of our apps. By installing or using one of our apps, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.

Where you obtained an app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, that store's own terms also apply to the download and to the purchase itself. These terms govern your use of the software we provide.

Your licence to use our software

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use our apps on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use. We keep ownership of the software; you are being given permission to use it, not sold a copy of it.

Please do not:

  • copy, redistribute, rent, resell or sublicence the app or its content;
  • modify, decompile or reverse-engineer it, except where the law expressly gives you that right and only within those limits;
  • remove or obscure any notice of ownership;
  • use the app to build a competing product, or to extract its content in bulk.

Training information is not medical advice

This matters more than anything else on this page. Cairn: Form produces structured resistance-training programmes from the information you give it. That output is general training information. It is not medical advice, not a diagnosis and not a treatment plan, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified doctor, physiotherapist or other health professional.

Where you record a movement limitation, the app uses it to shape or substitute what it prescribes. It does not assess, diagnose or treat an injury or condition, and it has no way to know your medical history.

Resistance training carries risk. You are responsible for the training decisions you make, including which exercises you perform, what load you use and whether a session is appropriate for you on a given day. Please take the advice below seriously:

  • if you have a medical condition or injury, are pregnant, are recovering from illness or surgery, or take medication that affects exercise, get professional advice before starting a programme;
  • stop exercising if you feel pain, dizziness, breathlessness or anything else that does not feel right, and seek appropriate medical help;
  • use equipment safely and within your capability, and use a spotter or safety equipment where it is sensible to do so;
  • in an emergency, contact the emergency services.

No promise of a particular result

Training outcomes depend on many things we do not control: your consistency, sleep, nutrition, stress, genetics, history and life outside the gym. We do not guarantee any particular gain in muscle, strength, body composition, performance or health, and nothing in the app or on this site should be read as such a guarantee.

Our programming draws on published training evidence. Evidence describes what tends to happen across groups of people; it is not a prediction about you.

Subscriptions and billing

Some features are available only with an active subscription. Where an app offers one, the price, billing period and any introductory or trial offer are shown to you in the app before you buy, and come from the app store's configuration for your region and account.

  • Billing is handled by the app store you purchased through. Apple is the seller for App Store purchases. For Google Play purchases, Google processes the payment under Google Play's terms. The relevant store charges your store account.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price for the chosen period unless you cancel, following your store's cancellation rules and timings.
  • You manage and cancel a subscription in your App Store subscription settings or your Google Play subscription settings. We cannot cancel it for you.
  • Deleting the app or your Form account does not cancel a subscription.
  • Refunds for App Store purchases are requested from and decided by Apple, through its refund process. For Google Play purchases, use Google Play's refund process. Tell us if something is wrong, because we would rather fix it.
  • Any statutory right you have to cancel or to a remedy still applies, and is exercised through the seller of the subscription.

In Cairn: Form, membership follows your Form account through RevenueCat. To restore it, sign in to the same Form account, then open Profile and choose Restore purchases, using the Apple ID or Google account that made the purchase.

If a subscription ends, training records already stored on your device remain on your device and readable in the app. A subscription gates premium adaptation features; it does not lock you out of your own logged training.

Availability, updates and changes

We develop our products continuously. Features may be added, changed or withdrawn, and an app may need a current operating system version to keep working. We will not make a change that removes a material part of what you have paid for during a subscription period without offering you a fair way out.

We aim for our apps to work reliably, but we cannot promise they will be uninterrupted or error-free, and features that depend on a store or an internet connection depend on services outside our control.

We may update these terms, for example when a product changes. If a change matters to you, we will make it clear, and the date at the top of this page will change. Continuing to use an app after an update means you accept the revised terms.

Acceptable use

Please use our apps lawfully and reasonably. Do not:

  • use an app for an unlawful purpose, or in a way that harms others;
  • interfere with an app's security, or attempt to gain access to features or entitlements you have not paid for;
  • attempt to damage, overload or interrupt any service an app relies on;
  • use automated means to extract content from an app.

Intellectual property

We own, or are licensed to use, the software, designs, text, artwork, exercise library and programming logic in our apps, and the ASACE Labs and Cadence and Cairn names and marks. These terms give you no rights in them beyond the licence described above.

The training information you enter, and the record of the work you do, is yours. In Cairn: Form it is stored on your device; see the Cairn: Form privacy policy.

Your device, and your data

Cairn: Form stores your training data locally on your device. We do not hold a copy, and we cannot restore it if it is lost. Deleting the app removes that data. Keeping your device, and any backup of it, secure is your responsibility.

Our responsibility to you

We do not exclude or limit our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including your rights as a consumer.

Subject to that, we are not responsible for loss or damage that was not reasonably foreseeable when you started using the app, and we are not liable for business losses: our apps are supplied for personal use, and we have no liability for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of a business opportunity.

Also subject to the first paragraph of this section, where we are liable to you in connection with an app, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us or the relevant app store for that app in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Because training carries inherent risk and we cannot supervise it, you remain responsible for your own training decisions, as set out above. Nothing in this section limits our liability for personal injury caused by our own negligence.

Your rights as a consumer

If you are a consumer, you have legal rights that these terms do not affect. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content we supply must be of satisfactory quality, fit for a purpose you made known to us, and as described. If it is not, you may be entitled to a repair, a replacement or a price reduction, and in some cases a refund.

For detailed, impartial advice about your rights, contact Citizens Advice at citizensadvice.org.uk.

Ending this agreement

You may stop using an app at any time, and delete it from your device. Cancelling a subscription is done through your app store account, as described above.

We may suspend or end your licence if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, for example by attempting to circumvent an entitlement. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you benefit from any mandatory protections of the law of the country where you live, and nothing here removes them.

Court proceedings may be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom where you live.
